Meet the Founders of Somerset Medical Aesthetics

At Somerset Medical Aesthetics, our philosophy is simple: doctor-led treatments, natural results, and a deeply personal approach to skin health. Behind this ethos are our founders of Somerset Medical Aesthetics, Dr Lucinda Bell and Dr Tash Smallwood – two friends, two doctors, and two women who share a passion for helping others feel confident in their own skin.

Dr Lucinda:

Dr Lucinda grew up in Somerset before heading to London for medical school. After years in the city, she returned to the South West and now lives in Bristol with her husband, twin boys, and little girl.

For over a decade, Dr Lucinda has been a Somerset GP, caring for her patients and building strong relationships within the community. Away from the clinic, she’s a keen pianist, fashion lover, and foodie – always exploring Bristol’s incredible restaurant scene. She balances that with her love of strength training and Pilates reformer.

Her passion for skin health truly flourished during the pandemic, when she saw just how much caring for our skin can affect both confidence and wellbeing. This inspired her to establish Somerset Medical Aesthetics, creating a space where clients receive personalised treatment plans, doctor-led care, and beautifully natural results.

Dr Tash:

Originally from Wales, Dr Tash studied medicine in Bristol and has worked across the South West ever since. She is now a Consultant Paediatrician in Bristol, where her compassionate, patient-first approach shines through every day.

Mum to three boys, Tash is always on the go – whether it’s running, training for triathlons, or planning her next sun-soaked holiday. She’s equally happy winding down with a cold glass of rosé or an Aperol Spritz in hand.

Dr Tash’s commitment to skin health is both professional and personal. She loves seeing the difference treatments can make for clients, but also makes time to care for her own skin – she proudly admits that all of her treatments are done by Dr Lucinda, and wouldn’t go anywhere else.
